Christmas as a Prayer

Christmas and a Prayer

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Dear Heavenly Father:

I am so truly thankful for the many, many blessings in my life: the love of my family, the friendships and relationships I am able to enjoy with others, the talents which thou has given me, and the opportunities I have each day to use and enjoy these blessings in my life.

As the holiday season passes, I pray that I will have the courage to live my life as if each day were Christmas; that I will exercise integrity in the moments of choice such that my actions truly reflect my gratitude for thy blessings; that I would be a worthy example to my children, and; that they would know of my love for them.

In the name of Jesus Christ,

Amen.
